The 2025 NBA draft is inching closer by the day, and as the June 25 event draws nearer, we are hearing more and more rumbles about which players the Boston Celtics have been working out. Armed with the Nos. 28 and 32 picks of the first and second round of the draft respectively, Boston could come away with a pair of quality players able to contribute immediately, and with a serious cap crunch due to hit this season, they will likely be on the hunt for such players.
Per the Celtics Chronicle’s Adam Taylor, one such player on Boston’s radar is former Temple forward Steve Settle. The 6-foot-11 wing has reportedly worked out for the Celtics.
As a player not mocked to either round by most analysts, he could be another option for Boston to target as an undrafted prospect to add to the team’s two way roster for the 2025-26 season who fits a similar profile to former Gonzaga forward Ben Gregg, another player Boston has worked out projected to fall outside the second round.
A 24-year-old fifth-year senior who transferred to Temple from Howard University, Settle put up 12.6 points, 6.2 rebounds and 1.7 assists last season while shooting 41.6% from deep — a career high — on 3.6 attempts per game with the Owls.
