Team Canada and Florida basketball’s redshirt freshman Olivier Rouix wrapped up competition in the 2025 FIBA U19 World Cup this weekend, finishing with a 5-2 overall record and fifth overall in the standings. Meanwhile, Team USA claimed its record ninth trophy by beating Germany in the finals.
The Canadians put up a heck of a fight on the international stage, handing losses to China, Slovenia, Mali, Switzerland and Australia, while losing to tournament champions and runners-up. Rioux contributed to his team’s success off the bench, logging just under a quarter’s worth of gametime in each appearance.
The 7-foot-9-inch Gator — who is also listed as the tallest teenager in the world by the Guinness Book of World Records — did not make a huge mark on the stat sheet, averaging 1.6 points, 2.0 rebounds and 0.7 blocks per game while getting into severe foul trouble twice in seven games. Nonetheless, the experience is an important one in the young hoopster’s development and will no doubt help prepare him for the upcoming 2025-26 college basketball campaign.
Previously, we had covered Rioux’s results up to the Germany and Mali matchups. Since then, Canada has played three more games, going 2-1 over that stretch. Below is a look at his full stats from this summer’s FIBA U19 World Cup performance.
