Ravens vs. Commanders: Takeaways from first half as Baltimore holds a 27-3 lead

The Ravens made the short trip to Northwest Stadium to take on the Washington Commanders at noon on Saturday, and Baltimore dominated the first half, jumping out ot a 27-3 lead.

Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson has not played this preseason and did not play against Washington on Saturday. Still, Cooper Rush was perfect in the first half, while the Baltimore rushing attack accounted for 83 rushing yards.

With the second half underway, we’re looking at takeaways from the first 30 minutes.

Ravens rushing attack

Rasheen Ali started things off, logging seven carries for 32 yards and a touchdown. D’Ernest Johnson did his part, logging 12 carries for 43 yards and a touchdown.

Ravens QBs

Cooper Rush was 5-5 passing for 59 yards before departing. Devin Leary was 7-11 for 20 yards in the first half.

Reuben Lowery

The undrafted rookie continues to make his case for a roster spot and posted seven tackles in the first half.

Trenton Simpson

Looking to re-establish himself in the Ravens lineup, Simpson had six tackles, 1.5 sacks, one pass defended, and two QB hits in the first half.

Keyon Martin

Another undrafted free agent defensive back looking to earn a roster spot, Martin had five tackles, two tackles for loss, and one pass defended.
