The Ravens have Super Bowl aspirations, and the biggest reason for that optimism is Lamar Jackson and Derrick Henry. Both players participated in Tuesday’s joint practice, and following that session, head coach John Harbaugh confirmed that they’d sit out the preseason opener.
Lamar Jackson and Derrick Henry won’t play in Thursday’s preseason opener, John Harbaugh said. He said he’ll determine if they will play in any of the preseason games later.

With Jackson out, Cooper Rush and, importantly, Devin Leary will see the bulk of the action at the quarterback position. At running back, Keaton Mitchell, Rasheen Ali, and D’Ernest Johnson could see most of the action with Henry out, and Justice Hill likely to join him. Baltimore could take a similar approach at wide receiver, tight end, and offensive line.
