Ravens Must Start Thinking About Another Contract Extension for $260M Star

The Baltimore Ravens have not won a Super Bowl with Lamar Jackson at the helm, but they’re hoping that changes soon.

Jackson has just about every other notch on his proverbial bedpost that an NFL quarterback can have, including two NFL MVP awards.

Back in 2023, Jackson was inked to a five-year, $260 million deal. He’s entering Year 3 of that contract and has maybe the best team he’s had since being drafted in 2018.

That means the pressure is on. It’s on Jackson and it’s on the Ravens to win now.

After this season, the Ravens will have to consider an extension for Jackson. And that contract could be massive.

Bleacher Report’s Moe Moton wrote that Jackson’s contract is the most important contract decision for the Ravens right now.

“In June, Jackson chose not to comment about his contract situation with the Ravens, but something is brewing on that front,” Moton wrote. During the annual owner’s meetings in the spring, head coach John Harbaugh told reporters the team has had internal conversations about an extension for Jackson, who’s the 10th-highest-paid quarterback in terms of average annual salary.

“One can easily argue that the two-time league MVP, coming off his best passing season with career-high numbers, is underpaid. Baltimore will likely make him the league’s highest-paid player this summer.”
