NFL legend Randy Moss didn’t shy away from praising one of the best wide receivers in the league at this moment. The competition is full of talent when it comes to the wide receiver position, starting with Ja’Marr Chase, CeeDee Lamb, Justin Jefferson, Amon-Ra St. Brown and more.

Moss, who played for the Minnesota Vikings, Oakland Raiders, New England Patriots, Tennessee Titans and the San Francisco 49ers, is widely regarded as the greatest wide receiver of all time.

With 10 seasons of at least 1,000 receiving yards, nine seasons with 10-plus touchdown receptions, ranking third all-time in receiving yards (15,929) and second in touchdown receptions (156) at the time of his retirement, Moss marked an era in the league.

His opinion matters, especially when it comes to the new generation of wideouts.

TMZ Sports sat with the legendary wide receiver on Saturday, when the ESPN analyst said Jefferson, a fellow Viking with 495 receptions for 7,432 yards and 40 touchdowns, is on track to become the greatest ever in his position.

“I think Justin Jefferson is on pace to be arguably the greatest ever and definitely the greatest Viking to ever do it!” Moss said.

“I’ve always been a fan of a complete football player, where you can score from anywhere on the field. And Justin brings that to the table.”

More than that, Moss explained that if Jefferson or any other wide receiver want to achieve greatness, they need to find the end zone more often.

“If you want to really be legendary, this is speaking for all wide receivers, not just Justin Jefferson, you gotta find ways to get in that end zone and bring the fans out of the stands up out of their seats.”

Jefferson has played with solid quarterbacks during his five-year NFL career, more specifically, Kirk Cousins (2020 through 2023) and Sam Darnold (2024). J.J. McCarthy will be under center from the 2025 campaign, and the expectations are high for that pairing.

They have built their off-field chemistry while McCarthy recovered from a season-ending injury that postponed his debut season for a whole year. Time will tell how they fare together on the field, but the Vikings appear to be in a good position ahead of 2025.
