Quinn Ewers is heading from the Texas Longhorns, where he spent the last three seasons and started to make a name for himself, to the Miami Dolphins, who took him in the seventh round of last week’s NFL draft.
But while he’s heading to a different part of the country for the next chapter of his football life, the quarterback looks like he will be taking a taste of the Lone Star State with him.
He has announced a new partnership with Hutchins BBQ, and he posted a video of himself on Instagram visiting the restaurant and getting a sense of what it’s all about.
Ewers was born in San Antonio and ended up attending Carroll Senior High School, which is located in Southlake, a suburb in the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex. It was there where he started to blossom, and he bloomed into the top recruit in the class of 2022.
He spent his first year of college at Ohio State before transferring to Texas to play for the Longhorns. Last year, He threw for 3,472 yards and 31 touchdowns while completing 65.8% of his pass attempts.
With the Dolphins, he will be part of the insurance policy behind starter Tua Tagovailoa, who has become a borderline star over the last two or three years but has been injury-prone. Tagovailoa suffered the third diagnosed concussion of his NFL career in 2024, and he ended up playing in just 11 games.
Ewers already had a lucrative partnership prior to teaming up with Hutchins BBQ. In early 2024, he signed a name, image and likeness (NIL) deal worth over $1 million with GT Sports Marketing to sign autographs.
