The Kansas City Chiefs will rely on rookie defensive lineman Ashton Gillotte to provide a much-needed boost to their front-seven this season.
Gillotte, who joined the Chiefs as a third-round selection in the 2025 NFL draft, was among college football’s foremost sack-masters during his four-year tenure with the University of Louisville Cardinals. In his 51 games played as a collegian, Gillotte recorded 26.5 sacks and 41 tackles for loss.
Now participating in his first NFL training camp, Gillotte has shown flashes of the same dominance that enabled him to dominate the college ranks.
He was seen tossing Kansas City’s first-round pick — offensive lineman Josh Simmons — during one-on-one drills at practice on Monday, July 28, in this video, which was posted to Twitter by Arrowhead Addict writer Lyle Graversen:

While Gillotte isn’t expected to compete for a starting spot on Kansas City’s depth chart next season, outstanding performances during training camp practices will ingratiate the first-year pass rusher with the Chiefs’ coaching staff.
