Las Vegas Raiders WR Jakobi Meyers sent shockwaves across the NFL receiver market when he requested a trade amid contract negotiations — and the Pittsburgh Steelers, with a pressing need for pass catchers, could certainly use his talents.
Acquiring the talented Meyers wouldn’t demand the same trade value as DK Metcalf — but it would be close, considering the Raiders wideout is coming off a breakout 1,000-yard receiving season in 2024.
Here is what a theoretical trade package for Meyers could look like:
Steelers receive:
- WR Jakobi Meyers
Raiders receive:
- 2026 fourth-round draft pick
- 2026 sixth-round draft pick
Meyers has produced at least 700 receiving yards every season since 2020, culminating in a 1,027-yard, four-TD performance last year. His three-year, $33 million deal is set to expire at the end of the 2025 season, but extension talks stalled with Las Vegas — forcing Meyers to consider playing elsewhere.
His price range could be akin to Michael Pittman’s $23.3 million to DeVonta Smith’s $25 million per year, considering their similar output on offense — a number the Steelers could certainly afford, and one that would push Pittsburgh’s offense to even more dangerous heights.
