The Green Bay Packers began their offseason program on April 21. They held Organized Team Activities (OTAs) from May 27 to June 5. The program will conclude with the mandatory minicamp, scheduled for June 10-12.

After the draft, Packers head coach Matt LaFleur said he expected plenty of competition across the roster. One position group that should see a lot of competition is the receiving corps. With 12 players competing for probably six spots, the race for playing time in Green Bay’s receiver room should be tight going into training camp.

While the Packers receiving corps ranked third in the NFL for most drops last year, there is no denying the team has plenty of talent at the position. During the final week of OTAs, LaFleur talked about one of Jordan Love’s most trusted targets, offering positive remarks about his shape ahead of mandatory minicamp.

“He looks great out there,” Packers coach Matt LaFleur said via ESPN’s Rob Demovsky after Tuesday’s OTA practice. “I don’t know if you guys can tell a difference in his physique, he does look like a specimen out there. But he does, he does a great job.”

Doubs has yet to surpass 675 receiving yards in a single season. In 2023, he led the team in targets, ranked second in receptions, and tied with Jayden Reed for the most receiving touchdowns. However, in 2024, his targets dropped to third on the team, and he faced a one-game suspension for conduct detrimental to the team. On top of that, Doubs suffered two concussions last season, which should raise some concerns moving forward.

The 2025 season will be a big one for Doubs. He has 1,700 receiving yards through his first three years and is heading into the final season of his rookie deal. He will need a productive year to strengthen his chances of earning a second deal with the team. Khalil Shakir’s contract extension with the Buffalo Bills could serve as a starting point for Doubs’ next contract, though Doubs has been the more productive receiver to this point. If he puts together a strong season, his value is only going to climb.

There is a growing sense of urgency within the Packers organization to compete for championships, which means every player must push to become the best version of themselves to help put the team in the strongest position to succeed. For Doubs, that includes further developing his connection with Jordan Love and possibly emerging as Green Bay’s number-one receiving option.
