Oregon Football Predicted to Land Four-Star WR Over LSU, USC originally appeared on Athlon Sports.
The Oregon Ducks are coming off quite a successful season. Some weren’t sure how the Ducks would fare in the new Big Ten Conference after leaving the Pac-12. Those thoughts were put to rest after head coach Dan Lanning and the Ducks ran the table to finish the regular season with an undefeated record that included a win against Ohio State.
In the Big Ten Championship game, the Ducks defeated the Penn State Nittany Lions to secure the No. 1 spot in the new-look College Football Playoff. In its first year, featuring 12 teams, the Ducks earned a first-round bye before they had to take on the Buckeyes in a rematch.

The long layoff might have done more harm than good for the Ducks, as they went from December 7 until New Year’s Day without a game after playing essentially every weekend since late August. The Ducks fell to the Buckeyes in the rematch, 41-21, in the Rose Bowl.
However, the Ducks continued to set records off the field, as 10 players were drafted into the NFL in April. Now, the Ducks hit the recruiting trail to capitalize on their recent success while trying to find the next batch of young players to help lead the Ducks back to the playoffs.
According to Rivals’ national recruiting analyst Sam Spiegelman, the Ducks have become the favorite to land four-star wide receiver Jalen Lott over schools like LSU and USC.

Lott is a 6-foot, 176-pound wide receiver out of Panther Creek High in Frisco, Texas, but has shown the ability to play on both sides of the ball. According to the 247sports.com rankings, Lott is the No. 61 recruit in the Class of 2026, the No. 6 athlete and the No. 8 ranked player in the state of Texas.
Lott has had success in other sports, too, particularly on the track, where he’s displayed incredible top-end speed, as well as being an elite high and long jumper. Lott is the type of player who will make plays, he just has to get on the field. Landing him would be a significant boost to Dan Lanning and the Ducks going forward.
