Oregon football picks up another prediction to land fast-rising 4-star QB in 2026 class

The Oregon Ducks missed out on a 5-star quarterback prospect in Ryder Lyons on Tuesday after his commitment to the BYU Cougars, but they appear to be in good shape to land another high-profile passer on their board.

Things have been developing positively for the Ducks and 4-star quarterback Bryson Beaver, a fast-rising prospect who has seen his recruitment blow up over the past couple of weeks. After decommitting from the Boise State Broncos earlier this month, Beaver has taken several official visits and received numerous scholarship offers. Still, it appears that Oregon is in the best position to land him.

Last week, we saw a couple of recruiting predictions come in for Beaver to choose the Ducks, and Tuesday night saw another one, this time from On3’s Steve Wiltfong.

Beaver’s rating on 247Sports is far below where On3 has him, leading to some debate about where he stands in the recruiting world. While On3 rates Beaver as a four-star prospect and the No. 19 QB in the 2026 class, 247Sports has him as a three-star and the No. 71 QB in the class.

No matter what the rankings say, it is apparent that the Ducks value Beaver and want him to be part of their QB room going forward. While it appears most likely that the California product will stay close to home on the West Coast and choose the Ducks, when he makes his commitment is yet to be seen. The recruiting dead period started this week, so Beaver is no longer able to take visits for the foreseeable future, which bodes well for the Ducks. However, he could choose to wait until the fall and get back out on the trail to see other campuses, like the LSU Tigers.

We will see what the 4-star chooses to do with his timeline and whether he wants to make his decision now, but this one continues to look like it is trending in Oregon’s direction.
