One current Jacksonville Jaguars player was named among the NFL’s top free agents for the 2026 offseason.
NFL.com’s Gregg Rosenthal put together his pre-2025 season ranking of the 25 best available free agents in 2026. Coming in at No. 25 was Jaguars‘ linebacker Devin Lloyd.
“Lloyd improved greatly in Year 3,” Rosenthal wrote. “This league is short on linebackers who can stay on the field, and he should be peaking in time for his next contract.”
The Jaguars declined to pick up Lloyd’s fifth-year option for the 2026 season earlier this offseason, meaning that he will play out the final year of his rookie deal in 2025 before becoming a free agent next offseason.
Lloyd finished the 2024 season making 106 of his 111 tackle attempts, and he was among PFF’s highest-graded linebackers in the run game. In coverage, he allowed 11.6 yards per catch with one interception and one pass breakup.
Lloyd is one player in particular who could benefit greatly from having Anthony Campanile as the Jaguars’ defensive coordinator. As the Green Bay linebackers coach in 2024 and operating a scheme that has overlap with what the Packers do, we saw that the linebacker unit really flourished as the year went on.
Lloyd’s versatility also pairs well with Campanile’s malleable defensive system.
“We’re excited about him,” Coen said of Lloyd early this offseason. “A guy that we see we can do some things with. We do feel excited about some of his versatility and experience.”
