Real Madrid midfielder Dani Ceballos is closing in on an agreement to join Olympique Marseille in a loan deal which would ultimately result in the French club buying the player in the summer of 2026, according to a report published on MARCA.

Ceballos posted a cryptic “Last dance” message on his social media after Real Madrid’s 0-3 win against Oviedo this Sunday, but he then deleted the post and published just the picture. The Spanish midfielder appears to be keen on leaving Real Madrid, and while he initially wanted to join Betis, the Andalusian club could not afford his contract.

If Ceballos ends up leaving Real Madrid, Los Blancos would lose yet some more depth on their midfield line. Even if the Spanish player was not going to play a relevant role this season, depth is always needed and now Xabi Alonso will likely have to replace his presence with academy player Thiago Pitarch.
