Ohio State Legend Responds to Jeremiah Smith’s WR Mount Rushmore with Three Words originally appeared on Athlon Sports.
When Jeremiah Smith speaks, Buckeye Nation listens. The breakout wide receiver who helped lead Ohio State to a national championship in the 2024 season is quickly carving out a legendary legacy, and now he’s showing love to the greats who paved the way.
In a recent video, Smith revealed his personal Mount Rushmore of Ohio State wide receivers: Cris Carter, Marvin Harrison Jr., Jaxon Smith-Njigba, and Ted Ginn Jr.
The list instantly sparked conversation across Buckeye circles, not just for who made the cut, but also for who was left off. But one person had a particularly heartwarming reaction—Ted Ginn Jr. himself.
Thank you.. Goat…. #GoBucks@Jermiah_Smith1https://t.co/5wEDOVkokB
— Ted Ginn Jr (@TedGinnJr_19) July 23, 2025
“Thank you.. Goat…. #GoBucks @Jermiah_Smith1” Ginn tweeted in response to the video. Just three words, but coming from a Buckeye icon, they carried serious weight.
Ginn’s inclusion isn’t surprising. A blazing-fast playmaker during his time in Columbus from 2004 to 2006, Ginn racked up nearly 2,000 receiving yards, 15 touchdowns, and countless unforgettable moments, including eight career return touchdowns (six punt, two kickoff) that electrified Ohio State fans. He went on to be the No. 9 overall pick in the 2007 draft and enjoyed a 14-year NFL career, known for his speed and versatility.
Ohio State’s wide receiver tradition runs deep. From Hall of Famer Cris Carter to modern stars like Garrett Wilson, Terry McLaurin, and Michael Thomas, the Buckeyes have long been an NFL WR factory. So for Smith to highlight Ginn alongside Carter, Harrison Jr., and JSN speaks volumes.
Now entering his second season, Smith has already lived up to the hype as the No. 1 recruit in the 2024 class. With a national title under his belt and another championship run looming in 2025, he’s not just talking about greatness because he’s chasing it.
And as Ginn Jr. reminded us with a few words, the Buckeye brotherhood runs deep.
