It wasn’t the best 24 hours for former Notre Dame players and their NFL teams, as they were two that got released.
First it was running back Audric Estime, who the Denver Broncos decided to part ways with according to Jordan Schultz on Monday. Drafted in the No. 5 round, the back played in 13 games last year, rushing for 310 yards on 76 carries with two touchdowns. Many thought that Estime could carve out a role with the Broncos, but that didn’t end up happening.
On Tuesday morning, the New Orleans Saints opted to move on without defensive end Isaiah Foskey according to Matt Zenitz. The former All-American was drafted in round No. 2 in 2023, but didn’t show much during his two seasons with the Saints, with 26 tackles and 0.5 sacks. It’s a disappointing end for Foskey, as he was expected to make a much bigger impact, but it didn’t work out that way.
Both of these released players should find new home, as they are more than talented enough to play at this level. Hopefully neither of them will have to wait long until that happens.
