NFL uniform rankings: How do the New York Giants stack up?

The NFL has updated its policies on uniforms, relaxing some of the previous policies and allowing teams to use alternate uniforms or throwback uniforms up to four times this season.

Previously, teams were only permitted to use varying uniforms three times per season. They’ve also loosened the rule on combining alternate helmets with classic uniforms, something that hasn’t been allowed in the past.

In 2025, the NFL and Nike collaborated on new “Rivalries” uniforms and gear. This year, the AFC East and NFC West will sport the new design, with more teams being added each year until 2028. The uniforms are said to resemble the NBA’s “City Edition” and MLB’s “City Connect” jerseys, although the actual design has not been released.

With these updated rules, USA TODAY’s Nate Davis analyzed each team’s “closet” of possible uniforms and ranked them accordingly. The New York Giants dropped in this ranking and now sit inside the bottom 10, meaning their uniforms are “meh.”

Thankfully their 100th season is over … and we won’t have to see those ancient throwbacks featuring Montreal Canadiens jerseys paired with khaki-colored pants, which they wore (just once) last season. Their 1980s retro uniform remains their best look, and the bland red-and-white roadies (which inexplicably lack any blue notes) remain problematic.

As of right now, the Giants have no plans to unveil a new uniform combination in 2025 and will continue with the standard blue home jersey with white accents and the white away jerseys with red accents.

Despite calls for a refreshed look, the Giants will continue with the same uniforms adopted in 2000. They’ll sprinkle in some alternates in 2025, and there are already plans for a game showcasing the 1980s throwbacks worn in 2023, and they have four games to use alternates.
