New York Giants wide receiver Jalin Hyatt has been the subject of plenty of hype this offseason.
After spending the first two seasons of his career working down on the depth chart, Hyatt enters his third season needing to prove he deserves a bigger role than what he saw during the 2024 campaign. With established veterans ahead of him, it may not be the easiest task.
However, the Tennessee product has been impressive during the offseason workout program, especially with Malik Nabers sidelined due to the toe injury he dealt with last season.
When speaking with reporters Thursday, head coach Brian Daboll had plenty of praise for Hyatt and the improvements he’s made during the offseason workout program.
“He’s done a nice job for us this camp,” Daboll said. “He’s trying to improve the things that we set out for him to improve.”

Daboll also mentioned the connection that has been growing with new quarterback Russell Wilson, especially when it comes to working in the team meetings.
“I think Russ has done a nice job of developing a relationship with Jalin, you know, Russ sits in the front and Jalin sits right behind him, right next to Malik, right next to Wan’Dale (Robinson). So there’s a lot of good communication flow with those guys and he’s done a nice job of trying to improve the things that we asked him to improve on,” Daboll said.
In addition to that progress, fellow wide receiver Darius Slayton said Hyatt came in strong this spring, having added 15-20 pounds over the offseason.
“What he was eating, maybe people or something, he came back swoled up, so he put on a good about 15, 20 pounds, I think. So, he’s definitely been stronger, he looks bigger, he looks stronger and that’s definitely helped his game some and I think he’s definitely made strides so far this spring,” Slayton said.
After showing some flashes during his rookie campaign in 2023, posting 23 receptions for 311 yards, Hyatt took a major step back in Year 2. The Tennessee product was a non-factor during his second season, recording just eight receptions for 62 yards.
Only time will tell whether Hyatt will break out during his third season, but he’s certainly garnered plenty of praise this offseason.
