New York Giants rookie Darius Alexander already has a pretty solid role model to work with before his NFL career even begins.
Selected in the third round of the 2025 NFL draft, Alexander has a chance to carve out a serious role within the Giants’ defense. The Toledo product brings a lot of upside to an interior defensive line position that has needed some help over the years.
Getting to work alongside an All-Pro talent like Dexter Lawrence also has its perks. That includes getting some offseason work in with renowned defensive line coach Mark Hall.

Lawrence was on his way to a career season in 2024 before an elbow injury ended his campaign prematurely after just 12 games. The nose tackle posted 9.0 sacks, eight tackles for loss, and 16 quarterback hits during that span.
Meanwhile, Alexander was viewed as one of the top selections from Day 2 of the draft by the Giants. He still has plenty of competition to wade through, but working with Lawrence and one of the top private coaches should help him achieve the goal of carving out a significant role in Year 1.
