The Brooklyn Nets have just three games left in the 2024-25 NBA season and the Nets would like to keep the winning going after Tuesday’s 119-114 win over the New Orleans Pelicans. With the season winding down, Brooklyn has been able to give playing time to some of the younger players on the roster, but part of the reason for that is due to the amount of injuries.

The Nets announced on Wednesday that forward Cam Johnson, guard D’Angelo Russell, and center Day’Ron Sharpe are out for Thursday’s game against the Atlanta Hawks due to their respective injuries. Johnson is still dealing with a lower back contusion, Russell continues to feel the effects of his right ankle sprain, and Sharpe remains sidelined with his right knee sprain.

All three players have been out of action for some time now and with just three games remaining on the schedule, it’s possible that the trio will join Cam Thomas, De’Anthony Melton, and Noah Clowney as players ruled out for the rest of the season due to injuries. To be clear, Brooklyn hasn’t ruled out any of Johnson, Russell, or Sharpe for the season yet, but the announcement could be coming soon.

With that being said, the Nets will still have to replace Russell and Johnson as they were the starting point guard and small forward, respectively. Guard Reece Beekman, who just compiled 10 assists and one turnover in Tuesday’s win over the Pelicans has been starting at point guard the last two games while forward Jalen Wilson has entered the starting lineup in the absence of Johnson.

As of now, it seems that the starting frontcourt for Thursday’s game against Atlanta will be Ziaire Williams, Trendon Watford, and Nic Claxton and with Beekman most likely starting at point guard again, that leaves the shooting guard spot unaccounted for. Even though Keon Johnson has been the starting shooting guard when Thomas has been out of the lineup, he was rested for Tuesday’s game against New Orleans so it’s possible that he doesn’t play his usual amount of minutes.
