Nation’s No. 2 QB Predicted to Snub In-State Georgia for Historic College Football Program originally appeared on Athlon Sports.
Over the past several seasons, coach Kirby Smart has established the Georgia Bulldogs as a recruiting powerhouse, and, barring a big change in the 2026 class, they will likely finish with their 10th straight top 10 class.
Now, Smart has put in a solid amount of effort into the 2027 recruiting class, already landing two commits while hosting several others for visits.
Quarterback Teddy Jarrard out of Kennesaw, Georgia, is one of the early targets for the Bulldogs, as he’s already had unofficial visits with Athens on May 17 and June 1.
Although he had a great time there and is yet to make a commitment decision, Rivals’ Steve Wiltfong predicted on Thursday that he would land with the Notre Dame Fighting Irish.
This would be a massive recruiting win for Notre Dame, as Rivals ranks Jarrard as a four-star recruit, the No. 2 quarterback, the No. 5 player in Georgia and the No. 52 player in the nation.
In his two seasons with North Cobb Christian, Jarrard completed 362-of-551 passes for 4,712 yards, 49 touchdowns, 16 interceptions and a 110 quarterback rating.
Notre Dame and Georgia are not Jarrard’s only options. Wiltfong also reported that the Ohio State Buckeyes, the Michigan Wolverines and the Penn State Nittany Lions are three of Jarrard’s top five schools.
Now, it remains to be seen if this prediction becomes a reality, as the quarterback realistically has at least a full year until needing to make a commitment decision.
