The Indiana Pacers suffered a major loss during NBA free agency. After making a run all the way to the NBA Finals, the expectation was that the team would keep its core together.

Unfortunately, star point guard Tyrese Haliburton tore his Achilles. That set the franchise back a year for the plans they had in place. It also led to questions about what the team would decide to do with free agent center Myles Turner.

While the Pacers worked to keep Turner in town, the discussions abruptly ended when Turner decided to accept a four-year contract with the division rival Milwaukee Bucks.

Despite the widespread expectation that he would re-sign with Indiana, Turner is now a part of the Bucks. His decision has made many fans angry and shocked the rest of the NBA.

Following his decision to leave the Pacers, Turner has now spoken out and taken a shot at Indiana. He delivered the shot during an interview at NBA Summer League.

“Even my time there (in Indy), there was a lot of people that wanted me to be off the team and now they got what they wanted and now they’re complaining still,” Turner said.

Throughout the course of the 2024-25 NBA season, Turner played a key role for the Pacers. He appeared in and started 72 games, averaging 15.6 points, 6.5 rebounds, two blocks, and 1.5 assists per game. Turner also shot 48.1% from the floor and 39.6% from 3-point range.

It will be interesting to see what the future holds for these two franchises. They form one of the most hated rivalries currently in the NBA.

With Turner now in Milwaukee, that rivalry should take yet another step forward.
