Reports in Italy claim that Milan could be tempted into making a move for Venezia sand former Juventus midfielder Hans Nicolussi Caviglia as an alternative option to Italy international Samuele Ricci in the summer transfer window.

Where Milan stand in Ricci pursuit

Ricci has been linked with a move to San Siro for most of the 2024-25 season. And, with Maurizio Sarri – a fond admirer of Ricci – now linked with a move to take over from Sergio Conceicao as head coach, the admiration from the Rossoneri camp is only set to intensify.

However, according to reports from Calciomercato.com, there could be a minor issue in terms of valuation, as Milan are prepared to invest around €25m-€30m on a new midfielder, while Torino will seek a fee in the region of €40m for Ricci.

If there are further issues with a potential deal for Ricci, then Friday’s report claims that Milan could turn to Nicolussi Caviglia instead.

The 24-year-old is currently on loan at Venezia with an obligation to buy from Juventus for a reported fee of €3.5m. However, if Venezia are relegated at the end of the 2024-25 season, then the former Bianconeri midfielder is expected to be one of the first names to leave during the summer transfer window.

Venezia are currently 18th in the Serie A table, two points adrift from safety with four games of the season left to play.
