WILLIAMSPORT — The Mid-East/Meadville Junior League baseball team lost 12-2 to Mid Valley on Wednesday in the opening game of the state tournament.
Mid Valley led 5-0 after four innings. Mid-East/Meadville scored once in the fifth and once in the sixth but couldn’t generate enough offense. Mid Valley scored twice in the sixth to clinch the win.
Isaac Beebe and Santino Trenga each had a hit for Mid-East/Meadville. Mason Potosky and Hugo Heller each scored with Bryce Huddleson recording an RBI.
Six pitchers saw time on the mound. They combined to walk eight batters and allow nine earned runs off nine hits. Potosky struck out three in two innings of work.
Mid-East/Meadville will play in the loser’s bracket on Friday at 5 p.m.
