Mavericks Fans Upset at GM Nico Harrison Amid Recent Cooper Flagg Plans originally appeared on Athlon Sports.
The Dallas Mavericks saw the ping pong balls bounce their way during the NBA Draft Lottery and now have the number one overall pick in this month’s draft.
The Mavericks are in desperate need of playmaking after sending Luka Doncic to the Lakers last season, and Duke superstar Cooper Flagg fits the bill with his versatile all-around game and stat sheet stuffing capabilities.
On Tuesday, Flagg’s upcoming plans for a visit with the Mavericks were revealed by a major local newspaper, shedding light on what fans can expect from the Blue Devils superstar as he prepares to mingle with his next potential team.
“Cooper Flagg is expected to meet the team, work out, and have dinner with (general manager) Nico Harrison while in Dallas,” the Facebook page Dallas Texas TV wrote on Tuesday, quoting the Dallas Morning News.
He is also expected to discuss the culture of the team while on his visit, the News said.
Flagg led coach Jon Scheyer’s team in scoring with 19.2 points per game while also leading them in rebounds, steals, and assists.
Many fans remained pessimistic in the comments section, still smarting from the Luka Doncic trade.
“Don’t come to Dallas you will only get traded in your prime!” one fan said with a laughing and crying, sideways emoji, hinting they are still getting over the Doncic trade.
“I heard Nico traded his steak for potatoes at dinner,” another fan said, lamenting the Doncic for Anthony Davis swap.
“Dinner with Nico today, traded to the Lakers tomorrow,” another fan added.
“Nooo! Do not let Nico talk to him! Keep him away!”
