Marlington Local Schools has announced the hiring of Scott Stayer as the district’s new athletic director.

Stayer is a longtime area teacher and coach who has worked at Perry, Jackson, Canton South and with Canton City Schools. He led the Jackson track and field team to three straight Federal League titles and was named the league’s coach of the year three times.

Stayer earned his bachelor’s degree from Kent State University and his master’s in administration from Ashland.
