This week, a report emerged claiming that Galatasaray are ready to trigger the €75 million release clause for Manchester United and PSG-linked attacker Victor Osimhen. The deal is expected to be finalized within the week, with the payment structure still being worked out.
GiveMeSport previously reported that Manchester United were increasingly concerned about PSG’s pursuit, with the French club seen as favorites to activate the £63 million release clause and meet the striker’s wage demands. But that move ultimately didn’t materialize.
Now, according to Corriere dello Sport, Osimhen wants to stay at Galatasaray. The Turkish club made a strong push to keep him by offering a €16 million-per-year salary package, which he has accepted.
The next step is for Galatasaray to reach an agreement with Napoli. The Italian side is holding firm on the €75 million release clause and has no intention of lowering their price.

In his column for CaughtOffside, journalist Alfredo Pedulla shared the latest on the Osimhen file, noting that while Galatasaray want to pay the release clause, Napoli require more than just a desire to trigger it.
“In recent hours, Osimhen has been in direct contact with Galatasaray, and there has been an honest conversation with the club’s vice president in Italy, who confirmed the willingness to pay his €75m release clause,” Pedulla wrote.
“Napoli want more. Not just vague promises of splitting the payment in instalments, but a real final guarantee, like a proper bank guarantee or an irrevocable letter of credit.
“In short: cash straight away or bulletproof guarantees. Now it’s up to Galatasaray to fully meet Napoli’s demands. There’s a reason why Napoli want every cent: it’s a matter of funding their incoming transfers and the investment in their next striker.”
