LSU Gymnast has Second Surgery originally appeared on Athlon Sports.
For the second time in about eight months, LSU Tigers gymnast Zoe Miller has endured major shoulder surgery. The freshman missed the entire 2025 season after a torn labrum was repaired on her left shoulder. This week, Zoe shared news of surgery on her right shoulder.
On Instagram, Zoe posted, “Just life doing life things…pt. 2 featuring the other shoulder.” She also posted an inspirational bible verse from the book of Isaiah that says, “Never lose hope. Just when you think it’s over, God will make a way for you.”
While we don’t know the extent of this injury, hopefully Zoe will be fully recovered in time to participate in the 2026 gymnastics season. Her teammates, as always, rushed into the comments to offer support. Ashley Cowan posted, “Proud of you.” Lexi Zeiss said, “Praying for you.” Sierra Ballard wrote, “So proud of you. Love you so much.” Tori Tatum posted, “The strongest girl I know! Keep your head up, Zo.” Kylie Coen wrote, “Love u the most!” Alexis Jeffrey posted, “I love you, Zo! Praying for you.” Aleah Finnegan wrote, “You are a beast. Head up baby, I love you!”
Zoe’s boyfriend is Michael Braswell, LSU’s star third baseman. Braswell posted, “Everything happens for a reason, babygirl.” Zoe responded, “I love you.”
While there has certainly been heartbreak and challenges to overcome physically, Zoe has also to cherish this past school year. In March, gymnastics GOAT Simone Biles visited Zoe and her LSU teammates.
Biles and Miller are longtime friends who both hail from Spring, Texas and have trained together for years. After Simone’s visit to Baton Rouge, she posted on Zoe’s Instagram, “Love you, twin!”
