Lee Corso went out on top in a lot of ways. The 90-year-old legendary ESPN broadcaster was celebrated in so many ways on Saturday for his final College GameDay show after 38 seasons. GameDay highlighted his many iconic moments and contributions, fans near the set had awesome Corso signs and even Fox’s competing Big Noon Kickoff paid tribute.
But Corso also went out on top in terms of his picks in two very notable ways. First, his 431st career headgear pickwas correct with No. 3 Ohio State beating No. 1 Texas.
A couple hours later, he was right again when he picked Florida State to top No. 8 Alabama, schooling the GameDay crew one more time as the only one who didn’t go with the Crimson Tide.
“Florida State is my school,” said Corso, an alumnus who played football and baseball in Tallahassee. “Florida State upsets Alabama.”
Picking his alma mater worked out especially well with fellow GameDay panelists Desmond Howard, Kirk Herbstreit, Pat McAfee and Nick Saban, obviously, picking Alabama to win.
