On Monday, the Rockets announced their roster for the NBA’s upcoming 2025 summer league in Las Vegas. Houston’s first game is Friday night, July 10. As expected, the roster is headlined by second-year guard Reed Sheppard, who was drafted at No. 3 overall in the 2024 first round.
In 2024, Sheppard earned All-Summer League First Team honors.
Garrett Jackson, normally an assistant to Ime Udoka with the Rockets, will again serve as head coach for 2025 summer-league games.
Under the annual format, each of the NBA’s 30 teams plays at least five games in Las Vegas, with the first four coming between July 10 and July 17. After those games, the top-four team advance to participate in the playoffs, beginning with a semifinal doubleheader on Saturday, July 19. The two winning teams from the semifinal games will meet in the championship game on Sunday, July 20.
The four playoff teams and their playoff seeds will be determined by winning percentage in each team’s first four games, with tiebreaker criteria available here. The 26 teams not advancing to the four-team playoff will play a fifth game at some point between July 18 and July 20, with opponents and game times to be determined after game four.
