After 12 straight days of training at Formello, Lazio have reached the end of the first part of their pre-season preparations.
The Last Dat at Formello
La Lazio Siamo Noi recapped the action from Friday’s double training session, which began with athletic and tactical work in the morning, with the squad split into two groups: One containing the strikers and midfielders, and the other consisting of the defenders.
Three Lazio Players Not Training with the Group
Gustav Isaksen remains out of action after testing positive for mononucleosis, while Samuel Gigot is still suffering from back pain. Boulaye Dia also skipped the morning session, before returning in the afternoon, albeit he worked separately. The Senegalese striker has been dealing with an ankle problem in recent days, the same issue that haunted him last season.
The Lineups
As usual, Maurizio Sarri ran a match between the ranks in the afternoon, while testing a 4-3-1-2 formation with one of the two teams, before switching back to 4-3-3 later in the session. The source revealed how the two sides lined up.
Red Team (4-3-1-2): Mandas; Hysaj, Gila, Provstgaard, Nuno Tavares (Marusic); Guendouzi, Rovella, Dele-Bashiru; Zaccagni; Cancellieri, Noslin.
Red Team (4-3-3): Provedel; Lazzari, Patric (Ruggeri), Romagnoli, Pellegrini; Belahyane, Cataldi, Vecino; Basic, Castellanos, Pedro.
What Lies Ahead for Lazio
The Lazio manager ended the session by delivering a speech to the squad in the middle of the pitch. The Biancocelesti will now head to Frosinone, where they’ll take on Avellino in a friendly test on Saturday, before heading to Istanbul, where they’ll play Fenerbahce and Galatasaray in back-to-back contests next week.
