For the second straight game, Kayla Kowalik provided the game-winning hit and a major shift in the AUSL All-Star Leaderboard. Kowalik, who ended the game with three hits, lined a single through the left side for a walk-off single, claiming a 3-2 win over Team Ocasio.

Team Lorenz struggled to produce offense for most of the game against Alesia Ocasio and Emma Lemley. However, they got hot at the right time. Danieca Coffey led off with a single and Rachel Garcia lined a ball down the right side for a double, allowing the speedy Coffey to score from first.

After Bri Ellis was hit by a pitch and Victoria Hayward grounded out, Team Osacio decided to load the bases by intentionally walking Amanda Lorenz. The decision didn’t matter after Kowalik’s single, which swung 90 points (70 win & 20 inning) for all of Team Lorenz.

Before the seventh-inning rally, Team Lorenz’s only run came via a Delanie Wisz solo home run in the second.

Ocasio and Tiare Jennings accounted for most of Team Ocasio’s offense, having five of the team’s six hits. Jennings had an RBI single in the first. She finished the day 3-for-3 with hits against all three of Team Lorenz’s pitchers: Garcia, Alana Vawter and Keilani Ricketts.

Ocasio, who also started and threw three innings, hit a two-out go-ahead ground-rule double in the fourth. That appeared to be the difference until Team Lorenz’s comeback.

Garcia, who now sits atop the AUSL All-Star Cup leaderboard heading into the Series One finale, also threw the final two innings, allowing one hit and picking up her second win of the season.

Kowalik (60 points), Garcia (40 points) and Ocasio (20 points) were voted MVPs. The Defensive MVP was hard to choose as the teams turned four double plays, but ultimately went to Team Lorenz’s Hannah Flippen.
