The Indiana Fever hosted the Las Vegas Aces on Thursday at Gainbridge Fieldhouse.
Entering the game, both teams held an even record at 8-8.
From the opening tip, the Aces leaned on A’ja Wilson’s inside presence, while the Fever countered through a balanced attack led by Kelsey Mitchell, Aliyah Boston and Natasha Howard.
The first half saw the Fever up by double digits, yet it was one play by Mitchell that stole the show.
Midway through the second quarter with the Fever up 31-20, Mitchell dropped a dime to Boston, who smoothly knocked down the midrange jumper.
The entire sequence of events immediately caught fans’ attention.
