Jordan Poole has now joined his third team in two years. This is after the Washington Wizards traded him to the New Orleans Pelicans in a blockbuster deal that saw CJ McCollum take his talents to Washington.

On Monday, as the NBA free agency window officially started, Poole learned that he had been reunited with former Golden State Warriors teammate Kevon Looney. This came after the 6-foot-9 big man opted to part ways with the Warriors in favor of a two-year deal with the Pelicans worth $16 million.

Based on Poole’s reaction on social media, it is clear that he’s very excited to be reuniting with Looney.

“Omg!!! It’s so lit,” Poole posted on Instagram, sharing ESPN’s report on Looney’s move.

Looney has decided to leave Golden State two years after the team parted ways with Poole. In 2023, the Warriors sent Poole to the Wizards as part of the Chris Paul deal.

Poole’s move away from the Bay Area followed his highly publicized fight with Draymond Green. The two got into it during a team practice session, which ultimately led to Green knocking Poole down with a punch to the face.

That’s all in the past now, and all parties appeared to have turned the page on that ugly chapter already.

With both Poole and Looney getting a fresh start in New Orleans, they will look to make some noise playing alongside the likes of Zion Williamson and Herb Jones. Things could get very interesting for the Pelicans in 2025-26.
