Joe Burrow Calls 25-Year-Old NFL Star ‘One of the Best Players of All Time’

Joe Burrow Calls 25-Year-Old NFL Star ‘One of the Best Players of All Time’ originally appeared on Athlon Sports.

With the 2025-26 NFL season just under two months away, Joe Burrow and the Cincinnati Bengals are looking to return to the postseason after missing it the past two years.

Still, Burrow had a career year last season, leading the NFL in both passing yards (4,918) and passing touchdowns (43). He couldn’t have done it without his right-hand man, Ja’Marr Chase, though.

Chase also led the NFL in several categories, achieving the rare receiving triple crown. The 6-foot wide receiver finished first in receptions (127), receiving yards (1,708) and receiving touchdowns (17).

Burrow, who starred in season 2 of Netflix’s “Quarterback,” had high praise for his good friend, calling Chase “one of the best players of all time.”

“Ja’Marr is one of the best players of all time. If you’re quarterback, and you’re not gonna throw to that guy, then you shouldn’t be the quarterback of the team anymore,” Burrow said.

“Quarterback” featured not only Burrow but also Detroit Lions quarterback Jared Goff and Atlanta Falcons quarterback Kirk Cousins.

The documentary, which premiered on July 8, offered fans a behind-the-scenes look at the players during the 2024-25 season, both on and off the field.

It comes as no surprise that Burrow feels that way about Chase, who’s been catching passes from him since their college days at LSU. They’ve since spent four seasons together at the NFL level, with many more on the way after Chase signed a four-year, $161 million extension this offseason.

The two stars will return to the field at the start of training camp on July 23 and open the season on Sept. 7 against the Cleveland Browns.
