During Sunday’s Game 1 against the Houston Rockets, the Golden State Warriors got their first taste of “Playoff Jimmy.” Widely known as one of the top playoff competitors in the association, Jimmy Butler lived up to the hype in his postseason debut with the Warriors.
Alongside Steph Curry, Butler fueled Golden State’s Game 1 win over Houston with 25 points on 10-of-19 shooting from the field to go along with seven rebounds and six assists.
Butler also made an impact on the defensive side of the floor with a game-high five steals.
After stuffing the box score, Butler joined an exclusive group of players in Golden State franchise history. Butler became the fourth player in Golden State history to notch 25+ points, 5+ rebounds, 5+ assists and 5+ steals in a playoff game. Butler joins Rick Barry, Steph Curry and Tim Hardaway as the only Warriors to accomplish that feat.
In his Warriors playoff debut, Jimmy Butler III cemented himself in franchise history.
He is the 4th Warrior to record 25+ PTS, 5+ REB, 5+ AST, & 5+ STL in a playoff game since 1973-74, joining:
Rick Barry – 2x
Stephen Curry – 2x
Tim Hardaway – 1x https://t.co/WN6zAB8rJKpic.twitter.com/ynmlB94Es2— NBA.com/Stats (@nbastats) April 21, 2025
Butler has scored 25 or more points in four of his last five games for the Warriors, including an impressive 38-point performance in the play-in tournament against the Memphis Grizzlies.
Butler will have the chance to build on his impressive performance on Wednesday when the Warriors meet the Rockets for Game 2 in Houston.
