Jimmy Butler, Kevin Durant Turn Heads With Offseason Move, Spark Warriors Rumors

Jimmy Butler, Kevin Durant Turn Heads With Offseason Move, Spark Warriors Rumors originally appeared on Athlon Sports.

Golden State Warriors forward Jimmy Butler had a successful partial campaign following the trade deadline. It didn’t take long for the former Miami Heat star to get comfortable alongside Stephen Curry and the rest of the squad.

The Warriors looked like a true title contender with Butler being the co-star alongside Curry, elevating the play of all of his teammates.

Before Butler landed in the Bay Area, it seemed he would be dealt to the Phoenix Suns.

There for a sliver of a second, it seemed Suns superstar Kevin Durant could return to the Warriors, this time by way of a trade.

That didn’t happen, though, and Butler landed with Golden State while Durant finished out the season with his Suns squad intact.

Now, Durant is expected to be dealt in a trade any day, particularly before the NBA Draft.

The Warriors were prepared to return Durant to the Bay Area at the trade deadline. Could they swing a trade for the 15-time All-Star during the offseason?

While it’s unlikely, Butler and Durant were seen with Rich Kleiman, the Suns forward’s business partner, visiting Paris Saint-Germain — a French soccer club — during their pop-up shop in Los Angeles.

This, naturally, led to Warriors fans striking up trade ideas to return Durant to Golden State, pairing him with Butler and Curry.

“KD to the warriors confirmed,” one fan said.

“Draymond Moody and multiple 1sts for KD is loading,” one fan added.

“This has my blessing. Bye Draymond,” another fan said.

“Heat and wolves both cooked welcome to houston kd,” another fan wrote.

If Butler had any words to Durant about the Minnesota Timberwolves and Miami Heat — two suitors for a trade with the Suns — his opinion on his ideal landing spot might change.

The two sparked the idea of Golden State trading for Durant, who won two championships alongside Curry and the Warriors, though that scenario is more than unlikely.
