The Phoenix Suns have made some major changes to their roster this offseason, which was expected by many around the NBA after they failed to reach the playoffs last season.

It is clear that the Suns are looking to retool their roster around their star guard Devin Booker as they signed him to a massive two-year contract extension and also moved on from the other two players in their big three in Kevin Durant and Bradley Beal.

Of course, the Suns bought out Beal, who ended up signing with the Los Angeles Clippers after clearing waivers, and they sent Kevin Durant to the Houston Rockets to begin their offseason.

In the Durant trade, the Suns received Jalen Green, Dillon Brooks and draft capital, including the pick they used to select Khaman Maluach in the first round of the 2025 NBA Draft.

Green was the headliner of the deal as the 23-year-old guard has blossomed into one of the more intriguing young guards in the NBA, though many questioned his fit next to Booker in Phoenix’s backcourt.

Despite this, Green appears to be excited about pairing up with Booker in Phoenix and also bringing what he learned in Houston with him as well.

“I’m just excited to get it popping with Book, and to create that winning culture that we figured out down here in Houston,” Green said.

Of course, Green played a key role in the Rockets’ success last season that saw them go from missing the playoffs two seasons ago to being the No. 2 seed in the Western Conference last season, though they were unable to make it out of the first round of the playoffs.

Green will now look to bring his playoff experience to a Suns team that struggled to remain competitive next season and is in the middle of a mini-rebuild as they try to turn their franchise around after the failure of their big three.
