Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence will be competing in the American Century Celebrity Golf Championship in Lake Tahoe at the Edgewood Tahoe Golf Course.
The tournament will take place July 11th through the 13th and will be aired on Peacock and NBC.
“Unlike most PGA events,” wrote NBC’s Adam Pockross, “the American Century Championship utilizes a modified Stableford format over the course of the tournament’s 54 holes. So instead of scoring in relation to par, points are awarded for how each player fares on any given hole.”
So, for example, a birdie is worth three points, an eagle is six points, and a par is one point. Whichever player has the most points scored after the three rounds will be the winner.
This will be Lawrence’s second appearance at the American Century tournament. He debuted in 2024, where he tied for 44th out of 90 golfers.
“I feel alright about my game,” Lawrence said. “Year 2 back here at Lake Tahoe; excited for it. Hoping to break that top 40, somewhere in the 30s. I don’t think I’m going to catch any of those guys at the top of the leaderboard. I haven’t been able to play as much as I wanted to this offseason, but it’s all good, just going to have fun, hang out with the fans, and have a great weekend.”
Jaguars‘ rookies will report for training camp on July 19th, and the veterans on July 22nd. Lawrence recently spent time in the Bahamas working out with Brian Thomas Jr., Travis Hunter, Dyami Brown, and others.
