Jacksonville Jaguars Brenton Strange left off PFF's top 32 tight end rankings

Pro Football Focus put together its latest rankings of the top 32 tight ends in the NFL heading into the 2025 season. However, left off this list was the Jacksonville Jaguars’ Brenton Strange.

Rounding out the final five spots in John Kosko’s rankings were Noah Gray at No. 28, followed by Cole Kmet, Zach Ertz, Juwan Johnson, and Will Dissly. Former Jaguars‘ tight end Evan Engram landed at No. 11.

Strange’s production took a big step forward in 2024, where he hauled in 40 passes for 411 yards with two touchdowns.

Now, with Engram in Denver, he sits atop the Jaguars’ tight end depth chart. That will, of course, mean more opportunities, but along with that, the Jaguars’ organization is very bullish on Strange, given his skill set and fit in Liam Coen’s offense.

We’ve heard GM James Gladstone, Coen, and Arik Armstead all speak very highly of Strange and his potential impact this season.

In addition to Strange’s production in the passing game, he’s a willing blocker as well and can line up across the formation. That well-rounded skill set adds some unpredictability to an offense, not only creating opportunities for Strange but also for his teammates.

“He’ll elevate just by alone getting more reps, and getting him on the field is a good thing for us,” Liam Coen said of Strange via Big Cat Country earlier this offseason. “You can tell he’s hungry, wants to continue to get better, and he showed some really nice things last year, especially after the catch. Doing some nice things of breaking tackles and getting extra yards.”
