‘It doesn’t surprise me’ – DeMarcus Lawrence reacts to Micah Parsons trade

Micah Parsons and DeMarcus Lawrence.

Oh how quickly things can change.

When DeMarcus Lawrence joined the Seattle Seahawks in free agency after a decade with the Dallas Cowboys, ‘Tank’ took a swipe at the Cowboys’ Super Bowl chances in an interview with Brian Nemhauser.

“Dallas is my home,” Lawrence said. “I made my home there, my family lives there. I’m forever gonna be there. But I know for sure I’m not gonna win a Super Bowl there.”

That led to this brief social media exchange between Parsons and Lawrence:

Lawrence had a more thorough statement to express his gratitude toward the Cowboys organization after this all transpired.

Well, well, well. Parsons requested a trade from the Dallas Cowboys and now he’s a Green Bay Packer.

The Draft Network’s Justin Melo spoke with Lawrence on Friday, getting his reaction to this blockbuster trade of one of the NFL’s premier pass rusher.

“I thought it was a dream [the way it went down yesterday],” Lawrence said. “It doesn’t surprise me. Not one bit. The NFL is a tricky league. It is what it is. I’m where I’m at, and my guy Micah [Parsons] is where he’s at now. The only thing left for us to do is play football.”

Lawrence and Parsons will be playing football for non-Cowboys teams for the first time in their respective NFL careers. The Seahawks and Packers aren’t scheduled to play each other in the regular season, and Seattle won’t play Dallas. Parsons is slated for a Week 4 return to Arlington to play the Cowboys on Sunday Night Football, with Jerry Jones facial expressions potentially subject to Curb Your Enthusiasm theme music video edits all evening.
