Is Browns All-Pro in danger of getting cut ahead of 2025 season?

The Cleveland Browns are short of elite offensive talent. Outside of Jerry Jeudy, the Browns don’t have a proven star at pass-catcher – except for one.

Cleveland signed former Pittsburgh Steelers star Diontae Johnson, who is on his fifth team in 16 months. That said, according to a recent report, wide receiver Jamari Thrash is a name that has impressed the Browns throughout the spring, which doesn’t bode well for Johnson.

“The opportunity is there for Jamari Thrash: The Browns are looking for receivers behind Jerry Jeudy. Cedric Tillman would be No. 2 right now. Based on the spring practices, Thrash has emerged as No. 3,” Terry Pluto writes. “He played 142 snaps last season and caught only three passes. They believe he’s made major progress heading into his second pro year.”

With Johnson recently admitting he refused to enter a game while a member of the Baltimore Ravens because it was cold, he has a lot to prove as training camp approaches. If he struggles and is out-performed by Thrash, he may see what could he his final chance in the NFL slip away.
