Former Lazio striker Ciro Immobile is reportedly on the verge of returning to Italian football, as Bologna increased their pursuit of a deal to sign the forward from Besiktas.
After a potential transfer initially seemed difficult, due to reasons involving his wage demands and current contract with the Turkish club, SkySport are now reporting that the parties are nearing an agreement.
All that is now missing, the reports claim, is Besiktas’ final green light for the deal to go ahead.
Immobile to return to Serie A
Immobile scored 15 goals and assisted four for Besiktas in the Turkish Super Lig in 2024-25 but reports in the last week have suggested the player was keen to return to his home country.
Sky report that Immobile will sign a one-year deal with Bologna, with the possibility of renewal if things go well for the 35-year-old – as the experienced striker can still play a huge role both on and off the pitch.
