Iowa City Liberty softball player Aubrey Robertson and baseball player Cooper Hughes were voted by readers as the Press-Citizen’s Athletes of the Week for July 14-20.

Robertson earned girls Athlete of the Week with 49% of the vote.

She made an impact for Liberty softball despite an 8-2 loss to Linn-Mar in the 5A regional final on July 24. She recorded an RBI single that tied the game, 1-1, before she plated the go-ahead run in the fourth inning.

Hughes won boys Athlete of the Week with 47% of the vote.

He powered Liberty past Linn-Mar in the Class 4A substate final on July 16. He tallied two RBIs, two doubles and a run.
