For the next few weeks, the Orlando Magic is the honorary NBA Summer League team for Spartans fans.
The Magic will tip off their NBA Summer League slate on Thursday, with a matchup against the Sacramento Kings. This typically wouldn’t move the needle for those supporting Michigan State, but this year’s summer league event includes three for Spartans on the Magic’s roster: Jase Richardson, Jaden Akins and Marcus Bingham Jr.
Richardson was selected by the Magic with the No. 25 overall pick in the NBA Draft a few weeks ago, and Akins and Bingham Jr. were both signed to the Magic’s summer league roster. So if you’re looking for a team that features a ton of Spartans, then the Magic is your squad for at least the next few weeks.
So with that being said, here’s what you need to know for watching the Magic’s summer league opener against the Kings on Thursday.
