Manchester City and Fenerbahce have reached a full agreement over a deal for Brazil goalkeeper Ederson, as confirmed by Fabrizio Romano.
Ederson is into the final year of his current Manchester City deal and has wanted a new challenge in recent seasons, having failed to engineer a move to Saudi Arabia last summer owing to City’s high valuation of the 31-year-old.
The former Benfica man was named on the bench for City’s 2-1 defeat to Brighton and Hove Albion on Sunday, with James Trafford impressing in net a week on from committing an error that directly led to Tottenham’s second in their 2-0 triumph at the Etihad Stadium.
Manchester City did not wish to sell Ederson earlier in the window, with Pep Guardiola considering the Brazilian part of his plans for the 2025-26 campaign. However, City identified Gianluigi Donnarumma and reached a contractual agreement with the 26-year-old as a replacement for Ederson.
Fabrizio Romano has confirmed on Monday morning that Fenerbahce have struck a total verbal agreement to sign Ederson from Manchester City, with a fee lying in the region of €13-14 million.
This is a developing story. More to follow.
