The Georgia Bulldogs pulled off a major recruiting victory on Saturday, July 12. Georgia landed commitments from five-star tight end Kaiden Prothro and four-star athlete Tyriq Green.
Prothro is ranked as the No. 1 tight end in the country, per ESPN. He’s the No. 19 player in the nation and the second-best recruit in Georgia. Prothro plays high school football for Bowdon High School in Bowdon, Georgia.
Tyriq Green is the No. 165 recruit in the nation and the No. 13 safety. Green is the No. 20 recruit in Georgia, according to ON3. Green plays high school football for Buford High School in Buford, Georgia.
Head coach Kirby Smart and the Dawgs are now up to 29 commitments in the class of 2026 and Georgia is looking like contenders to finish with the nation’s top recruiting class. Both commitments are major in-state recruiting wins for Georgia. Sixteen of Georgia’s 29 commitments in the 2026 recruiting cycle are from the Peach State.
