It is uncertain where and when the fight between Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua will happen. However, with the potential bout looming, it has been a hot topic, with both boxers showing commitment and even confirming it would materialize.

Nonetheless, as of June 2025, there is still no established contest date or even location. Reports indicate that Fury is presently retired, and while a lucrative package could lure him back, there is no active match agreement in place.

Team Anthony Joshua hasn’t surrendered on hopes of the enormous melee coming to fruition, but is beginning to explore other possibilities for the Olympian’s subsequent clash.

Meanwhile, the Gypsy King drove the final nail in the coffin of the long-awaited Battle of Britain in January when he declared his fifth retirement following successive defeats to Ukraine’s Oleksandr Usyk.

Elsewhere, according to former world titlist and boxing commentator George Groves, there is only one choice Fury should make: to return to the ring. The British Titans have been long-time arch-rivals, and George Groves believes their grudge showdown will eventually happen.

“It’s done. He’s fighting Joshua. He’s gonna take his time right now, switch off from boxing for a bit. I’m almost certain that the fight is either signed, sealed, delivered, and just not announced, or well on its way to being done. Joshua wouldn’t have a warm-up fight. Those ships have sailed. They’ll just fight each other. It’s two heavyweights, and they are former World Champions; they want to roll around, have a little fight. Let them fight in a cage!” said Groves in a recent interview with CasinoBeats.
