It didn’t take long for another NFL star to begin lobbying for Washington Commanders star Terry McLaurin.
McLaurin requested a trade from the Commanders on Thursday evening, and not long afterward, Cleveland Browns Pro Bowl cornerback Denzel Ward went on X and made his case for McLaurin’s return to the state of Ohio.
My Ohio State brother Terry Mclaurin would look fire in a Cleveland Browns jersey🔥I’m just saying

Ward and McLaurin were teammates at Ohio State from 2015-17. Ward was a starting cornerback for the Buckeyes as a true freshman, while McLaurin faced a steeper climb up the depth chart. Ward declared for the 2018 NFL draft and was selected No. 4 overall. He’s spent his entire seven-year career with the Browns and has been named to the Pro Bowl four times.
McLaurin was a third-round pick in the 2019 NFL draft, and he has spent his entire career with Washington. Entering the final year of his contract, McLaurin wants a new deal that would make him one of the NFL’s highest-paid receivers.
Ward and McLaurin met last season, when the Commanders won 34-13. McLaurin caught four passes for 112 yards and beat Ward on a deep ball that set up a Washington touchdown.
While Ward may want to reunite with his college friend, the Commanders have made it clear they aren’t moving on from McLaurin. A long-term deal remains the priority for both sides.
