A former Michigan State Spartans offensive lineman is heading to the Canadian Football League.
Former Spartan Jarrett Horst signed with the Montreal Alouettes of the CFL on Thursday, continuing his professional football league for at least another season. Horst most recently played for the Michigan Panthers of the United States Football League last year and the year prior to that was with the Miami Dolphins of the NFL.
According to a press release from the Alouettes, Horst has signed a two-year deal that will keep him with the organization through the 2026 season.
Horst played two seasons for Michigan State after transferring from Arkansas State in 2021. He started the first eight games of the 2021 season where the Spartans went 11-2 and won the Peach Bowl, but missed the final five games due to injury. He then appeared in eight games during the 2022 season.
The Montreal Alouettes open the 2025 season on June 6 against the Toronto Argonauts.
